About Us

A personal need that became a purpose

Cão Fila by Nitro was born from a personal experience that led its founder to identify a need faced by many pet families: how to care for and meet their dogs’ needs while managing their daily responsibilities. In the beginning, the founder worked full-time and needed to take her dog to a training-related appointment. Without a transportation and accompaniment option available, she had to take a day off work in order to bring him.

That’s when a simple question arose—one that would become the starting point for Cão Fila:

“If there were someone who could do this for me while I work, I would pay for that service.”

After experiencing firsthand the positive change that training brought to her dog’s behavior, she developed a deeper interest in understanding canine behavior. She began studying and learning about training and behavior, with the goal of understanding what other behaviors could be addressed and how she could help more dogs and their families.

For approximately one year, she had the opportunity to work with more than 45 dogs, supporting them through the process of adapting to different lifestyles and family routines.

Some of these dogs learned to live comfortably in apartments, adapt to new family dynamics, and enjoy a better quality of life without necessarily needing a yard. This experience transformed her perspective on pet care. She came to understand that a dog’s well-being does not depend solely on the physical space available to them, but on having opportunities to exercise, socialize, learn, receive stimulation, rest, and feel safe, as well as a family that understands and meets their needs.

And that’s how Cão Fila by Nitro was born.

In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, this need became a business venture with a clear vision: to create a place where pets could receive the care, attention, and affection their families strive to provide at home. What began with training evolved as our clients’ needs grew. Cão Fila gradually incorporated different services, becoming a comprehensive concept for pet care and well-being. Today, Cão Fila by Nitro offers boarding, daycare, grooming & spa, training, Pet Taxi, and other specialized services, all integrated under the same philosophy: putting the pet’s well-being at the center of every experience.

A team dedicated to caring for them

The evolution of Cão Fila has also meant investing in the training and development of our team.

Today, we have trained and certified staff in different areas related to pet care, including veterinary assistance, professional grooming, and dog training, as well as pet CPR training and certification, according to each team member’s respective roles and certifications.

This training allows us to work with greater knowledge, responsibility, and sound judgment in the daily care of every pet we welcome.
Because caring for a pet requires much more than love. It requires knowledge, preparation, observation, protocols, and responsibility.
